"Oh WHAT?!"Katie yelled,holding an ever-so-urgent letter from the king.This also woke Jacob up, from quite a relaxing nap."What is it this time?Another zit?"He yawned tiringly."I have to deliver this letter ti a CHRONICLER about DUSK on the OTHER SIDE of the COUNTRY!!!"She angrily exclaimed."Oh my god."Jacob said.
"It's not that bad, Ja--"Katie stopped when she realized that Jacob was staring at the TV."What is i--OH MY GOD!"She yelled.Mideel, Jacob's own hometown,was ablaze.There were flames in every direction.It was the reality version of Dante's Inferno."I'm going." Jacob said, leaving the impossibly comfortable couch."Wait.What?"Katie asked.
"Oh!You can come along!You'll be a big help!"Jacob shouted out of the frint door.He ran back in, gently took Katie's arm, and they were off.

"I have to get going now or I'll never make it back in time for the celebration!"(not gonna tell ya till later!POWNED!!!!)Katie complained on the dark,grassy pathway to Mideel."..and I was kinda hoping you'd come with me!"She finished.Jacob came to an abnormang stop.He turned to face Katie, as if he'd heard that someone had died.She could see that he was shocked, and evenmre confused."What?Why?"Jacob asked in confusion."There are akot of cool things to see on the way!Let's go!Just the two of us.You and me."She replied.
"Katie, I made a promise to protect these people."Jacob said.He sensed the smallest bit of a tear starting to form in his eye.Slowly,yes.But surely.Katie began to become more and more angered.'Dusk will be here soon--"

Katie started to scream."Damn it, Jacob!Why do ypu always have to be so damn selfish?!You have to decide right now.Which do you love more?Me or your promisses?"She said.He wanted to say her, but his heart wouldn't let him.Those people were so kind and geneous to him when he was a kid.Unlike his parents, he loved these people.And he had promised to help them out when they needed him the most."You know I can't answer that.I'm so sorry.I have to go.If I can't help them,being so close to them, then who will?"He replied.Then, Katie did something.Something that the both of them would remember forever.She slapped Jacob,hard.Then,like that,she ran off.

Jacob cried silently as he watched Katie walk over the final hill."Know how to keep the ladies huh?"A voice Jacob thought he would never hear again.Jacob spun around to meet face-to-face with Dusk,who was wearing a lopsided grin."Shut it Clockwise."Jacob scowled.Dusk chuckled lightly,running his hand through his apparently longer hair."Want me to talk to her?I can run that far." Dusk said."No." Jacob said silently and turned his back."Wanna go fight some Loose Lizards?" Dusk asked,trying to lighten the atmosphere. "No.Hows it going with (am not telling you yet its surprise)." Jacob asked."Pretty good she's just over the next hill practicing her (Not telling you or you might find out....no its not Eva....Or Echo)."Dusk said "Dusk just leave me alone."Jacob said shoving Dusk aside. "Wow........talk about mood change! I never dreamed that I'd see you this gloomy!" Dusk replied."What happened out there?"
